Investing in Education. Transforming Lives. Building Communities.

The Lee-Ann’s Hand of Hope  Scholarship is an education initiative committed to supporting deserving young Murle students who face financial barriers to continuing their education.

Since 2020, we have worked to create educational opportunities for young people who have completed high school but face financial and socioeconomic challenges that make further education difficult.

Education is an investment in people—and people are the foundation of every community.

Our Mission

“Creating Opportunities Through Education”

The Lee Ann Scholarship exists to help deserving young Murle students overcome financial barriers to education.

We support students pursuing secondary education, university, college, vocational training, skills development, and other appropriate educational opportunities, depending on available resources and individual circumstances.

Our goal extends beyond paying school fees. We seek to encourage students to develop knowledge, skills, Christian values, responsibility, and a commitment to serving others.

Our Approach

Education.

Faith.

Mentorship.

Responsibility.

Since 2020 . . .

A Commitment That Began With One Simple Belief

The Lee Ann Scholarship was established in 2020 through the Christian commitment of Lee Ann Alexander and her co-worker Caroline to support young Murle people through education.

What began with a small number of students has gradually developed into an initiative supporting young people pursuing education at different levels.

Today, the initiative continues to connect supporters with students who need assistance to continue their educational journeys.

Why Education?

Education Can Change More Than One Life

When a young person receives an education, the impact can extend far beyond the individual.

An educated young person can become:

• A teacher

• A health worker

• An administrator

• An entrepreneur

• A professional

• A church leader

• A community leader

• A mentor to others

We therefore see education as a long-term investment in families, churches, communities, and the future of South Sudan.

Our Vision

To see a generation of educated, responsible, Christ-centered, and community-minded Murle young people equipped to contribute to the development and transformation of their communities.

Our Journey

Education → Skills → Independence → Service → Community Impact

We believe a scholarship should create opportunity rather than permanent dependency.

Our hope is that students will gain the education and skills necessary to build more independent futures and eventually use their knowledge and experience to encourage and support others.

Who We Support

The Lee Ann Scholarship primarily supports deserving young Murle students facing genuine financial barriers to continuing their education.

Depending on available resources, support may include:

  • Secondary Education

  • University Education

  • College & Higher Education

  • Vocational & Skills Training
